Cast Bios

DARAH ABRAMS (She/Her/Hers) (Ensemble)

Making her Schimmel Mainstage Debut in Head Over Heels, has appeared in a number of shows in South Florida and New Hampshire. Last summer season she appeared in Funny Girl, Ragtime, Mamma Mia, and Saturday Night Fever at Interlakes Summer Theatre. She is also a choreographer

and aspiring yoga instructor.

ERNEST ALLEN (They/Them) (Pythio)

Born and raised in Harlem, NY, Ernest is an openly queer performer who strives to bring LGBTQ+ stories to life on stage. Ernest is a Sophomore in the Pace musical theater program and is honored to be playing the role of Pythio, one of the first proudly Gender Non-Conforming characters written for the broadway stage. This will be their third main stage casting and they are excited to make their family, who they love very much, proud.

JAMIR BROWN (Musidorus)

Jamir is thrilled to be a part of a another mainstage production at Pace University. Jamir would like to send a special thanks to the creative and production team. SEAN-MICHAEL BRUNO (He/Him/His) (Ensemble)

Sean-Michael Bruno is currently a junior at Pace University getting his BFA in Musical Theatre. He is a proud member of the HBO family, appearing in the drama series Tremé and film Confirmation. His Pace credits include: Nicely Nicely Johnson in Guys & Dolls, Wailin’ Joe in Memphis, and Combeferre in Les Miserables. Sean-Michael is so happy to be a part of this amazing cast! KARRISSA CARLETON (Ensemble/ Philoclea U/S)

Karissa is thrilled to be a part of her first mainstage at Pace. Her previous Pace credits are Guys and Dolls (Hot Box Girl).  She would like to thank the cast and crew for making this show such a wonderful experience.  She also thanks her mom and dad for always supporting her!

BOBBY ELLIS (He/Him/His) (Ensemble)

Bobby is so excited to be a part of the incredible ensemble of Head Over Heels at Pace University. Working with this cast and creative team has been nothing but joyful, fulfilling, and fun! Past credits include Guys & Dolls at both Theatre Aspen in Colorado and here at Pace! Big love to family, friends & the class of 2022!!

MADISON FINNEY (She/Her/Hers) (Dance Ensemble/Understudy Gynecia)

Madison is a Senior Musical Theatre major from Columbus, Georgia, and a die hard Go-Go’s fan. She is extremely honored to have had Head Over Heels be the closing show of her Pace career. Her previous Pace theatrical credits include Guys and Dolls (Asst. Choreographer/Swing), Memphis (Ensemble/US Gladys), Love/Sick (Celia), Les Miserables (Ensemble), The Drowsy Chaperone (Swing/Dance Captain/US Kitty), Michael John LaChiusa’s Dead Babies, and HATCHED at 54 Below. Her other recent work includes A Chorus Line (Val) at the Cape Playhouse and Chicago: A Musical Vaudeville (Annie) with the Trentino Music Festival in Mezzano, Italy. Madison is extremely grateful for the community of artists she has had the opportunity to work with, and she hopes the audience loves the show as much as the cast and creatives do!

 

CHRISTIAN FLAHERTY (Ensemble/Musidorus U/S) 

Christian Flaherty was most recently seen as Rusty Charlie in Guys & Dolls at Pace University, as well as working regionally with RWS Entertainment Group and Cedar Point Amusement Park. All my love to my family & friends, as well as Austin, Ellenore, Tori, and the rest of the HOH team. (And my pups Archie & Cooper.)

 

HANA GOTTLIEB (They/Them) (Ensemble/Pamela & Pythio U/S)

Hana is a senior here at pace, ready to get their butt out into the real world! They want to take this space to state that as we will learn in this show, gender is often “germane to the discussion,” and that body parts have no influence over what determines a person’s gender! They would also like to encourage everyone (especially students) to get out there and vote in not only the upcoming presidential election, but all elections big and small to come! The environment, marginalized folks, especially trans, black, brown, and indigenous peoples need us to put our money/vote/time/actions where our mouth is and rally behind them now more than ever! “Now’s the time for use to move! actions shout out loud!” @hanasgottlieb

KARIM HAZIME (Swing)

Karim Hazime is currently a sophomore musical theatre major at Pace University and is so excited to be apart of his first Pace production as the male swing in Head Over Heels! Karim would like to thank his family and friends for all their support and hopes you enjoy the show! insta: @karim.hazime

ELLIOT W. HICKS (Ensemble)

Elliot is super excited to be in his first main stage show at Pace! A sophomore, he enjoys playing jazz piano and Super Smash Bros Melee in his free time. Shoutout to 5G, Karl Marx, and the cast and team of Head Over Heels. Don’t forget to vote!

RYLAND MARBUTT (Ensemble)

Ryland Marbutt is so excited to be performing in Pace University's production of Head Over Heels. Ryland's most recent credits would include performing in Big Top Dreams at Hershey Park, and Surflight Theatre in shows such as Wedding Singer, Nice Work if You Can Get It, Jesus Christ Superstar, and Saturday Night Fever. He would like to thank his beautiful friends and family for their constant love and support! And of course, a huge thank you to Austin and Ellenore, his fellow castmates, and the phenomenal production team for creating this wonderful piece of art. Get ready for some DANCIN’, and SINGIN’! And enjoy the show!

 

JAMESON MAY (Dametas)

Jameson May is a senior super excited and a little sad to be making his final main-stage appearance at Pace. Past Pace credits include: Guys and Dolls (Harry the Horse), Les Miserables (Ensemble) and Pete(Her) Pan (Male Sing). Jameson is also a member of Pace University’s a cappella group ‘Frequency.’ In addition to being an actor, he is a singer/songwriter who writes under the name ‘Jamo’ (debut ep “Better Plan”) and one half of the songwriting duo Shofi & May with his good friend Michael. Their concept album “Distance” will be performed at the Green Room 42 next month. Huge thanks to this incredible cast, crew and creative team, and to his family and friends for their endless love and support.

ALISA MELENDEZ (Mopsa)

Alisa is a California native and honored to be a part of such a beautiful show as her final production at Pace University! A few favorite Pace credits include Les Miserables (Fantine), City of Angels (Swing), Sam Pinkleton’s Showtune Blowout, Night of Color, and HATCHED at 54 Below. Her other recent work includes Almost Famous (Swing). All of her gratitude to God, her forever family, and Tamar Rubin for their constant love and light. 1 Corinthians 13.

JULIA RIPPON (Swing/Dance Captain)

As a Junior Musical Theater Major with a minor in Dance, Julia is thrilled to be a part of such an amazing and important story. Previous credits: Swing for Hershey Park’s Once Upon, Memphis at Schaeberle Studio Theater, and “Sophie” in Mamma Mia! At Surflight theater. She gives thanks to the entire creative team for having her back, and pushing her to always do better. Extra special thanks to her family for their constant love, and allowing her to live her dreams. LOGAN ROWLAND (Basilius)

Logan Rowland was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and is a senior in the musical theatre program at Pace University. AJA SIMONE (She/Her/Hers) (Ensemble/Understudy Mopsa)

Aja is a junior at Pace University, and is ecstatic to be doing her second main stage musical. She was in Memphis last year, as a member of the Beale street ensemble. She has also done A Night of Color for the second year in a row! She feels honored to be apart of such an amazing production, and cannot wait to work with the cast and crew in the future!

ANNA CATHERINE SMITH (Philoclea)

Anna Catherine Smith, a proud Knoxville, Tennessee native, is head over heels for this wild cast and crew! Credits include, Regional: Belle in Beauty and the Beast and Ariel in The Little Mermaid (Timber Lake Playhouse). Pace credits include Sunday in the Park...(Mrs./ Dot u/s), and Guys and Dolls (Lt. DREW SPRINGER-MILLER (Gynecia)

Drew Springer-Miller is a proud native of Stowe, VT. Regional/University credits include Sally Bowles in Cabaret, Kayleen in Gruesome Playground Injuries, The Drowsy Chaperone in The Drowsy Chaperone, Emily in Love/Sick, and Madelaine in LaChuisa’s The Wild Party.  Readings/Workshops credits include Dorothy in A Short History of Women (dir. Judith Ivey), Captain Hook in Pete(Her) Pan, The Dramatists Guild New Writer’s Series at The Players’ Club (dir. Gretchen Cryer), and Showtune Blowout (dir. Sam Pinkleton.) Training includes the Arts Concentration Program in Drama at Choate Rosemary Hall, the Circle in the Square Theater School, and now Pace University’s BFA Musical Theater Program, Class of 2020. COLE WACHMAN (Ensemble/Associate Choreographer/Basilius U/S)

Cole is readying himself to graduate, and loves spending his final moments at Pace as part of something as special as this show! He misses his hometown of Costa Mesa, CA, but is thrilled to be here as a senior MT. Past Pace credits include Big Jule in Guys and Dolls, the ensemble in The Drowsy Chaperone, and Rob Johnson in a workshop of Nikola Tesla Drops the Beat! ELYCE WEST (She/Her/Hers) (Pamela)

Elyce is super excited to be portraying Pamela in her third PPA mainstage production. Other credits include A Night of Color: Debunking the Myth (Director/Featured Performer) Memphis (Ensemble), Les Miserable (Ensemble/Prouvaire), Sam Pinkleton's "Show Tune Blowout" & Lonny Price's "A Night Of Sondheim." AUSTIN REGAN (Director)

Austin is a New York based stage director, and is thrilled to be working with the amazing students of Pace University. Recent productions include a new production of Rigoletto at Minnesota Opera, which the Minneapolis Star Tribune lauded as ". . . a scorching take on politics, patriarchy, and power"; the world premiere of Discount Ghost Stories at Local Theater in Boulder CO ("Hauntingly beautiful," Boulder Daily Camera); the world premiere of Alexandra Silber's The Trojan Women (The Hangar Theatre); Mad Libs Live!, a new interactive musical for young audiences Off-Broadway at New World Stages; Well Worn Words (Ars Nova and Joe’s Pub); Loose, Wet, Perforated (Guerilla Opera); Three Decembers (FM Opera); The Blind (The Flea Theater); Peter Lerman's The Sacred Harp (Musical Theatre Factory); Spring Awakening (Krannert Center/UIUC); #MormonInChief (Kraine Theater); Horse Play (Dixon Place). His theatrical writing includes Proxy (Underscore Theatre Company) and The Adventures of Pericles.

        Austin’s assistant and associate directing, mostly with Tony Award-winner Michael Mayer, includes Broadway (Head Over Heels, American Idiot, Everyday Rapture, On A Clear Day…) and the Metropolitan Opera. Also active in theater education, Austin has directed and taught at top institutions that include New York University, the Boston Conservatory, the University of Illinois, Broadway Collective, the Hangar Theater Lab, and Trollwood Performing Arts School. ALEXANDER TOM (he/his/him) (Music Director)

Alexander is the musical theatre lecturer for the BFA Musical Theater at Pace University. He holds his MM from Shenandoah Conservatory in conducting and an honors BMUS from Arizona State University in composition. A current composer with the BMI Lehman Engel Music Theatre Workshop, Alexander has been credited for vocal and dance arrangements for the off-Broadway premiere of Love & Yogurt and orchestrations for Little Match Girl. He has helped champion new works initiatives at Arizona State University, Shenandoah Conservatory, North Central College, and Phoenix Theatre. Additional appointments include Interlakes Summer Theatre, Shenandoah Summer Music Theatre, Creede Repertory Theatre, Arizona Broadway Theatre, Southeastern Summer Theatre Intensive and Chicago Musical Theatre Festival. DAVID DREW HERNDON (He/Him/His) (Assistant Director)

David is a current sophomore Directing Major. He is honored to have worked on this amazing production and cast and its important message. His past directing credits include As you like it, The Zoo Story, and Curtains. He would like to thank his friends and family for their support.

JOSHUA STRAKER (Technical Director)

Joshua Straker is a 3rd Year Production Design Major who is honored to be the programs first student Technical Director. Previous credits include Technical Director for Guys and Dolls,  Assistant Technical Director for Boeing Boeing, Props Designer for Dark of the Moon and the film I Against I, and Props Build for Lysistrata, and The Drowsy Chaperone. He aspires to be a Master Carpenter and Technical Director on Broadway and Off-Broadway shows. He’d liked to thank Graham Kindred, Chris Jensen, Walter Pigford, Team Scenic! and the whole design team for an amazing experience. Have an amazing run!

AMELIA CAMILO (Costume Designer)

Amelia Camilo is thrilled to help create the world of Head Over Heels. A New York based Costume Designer and Junior at Pace University, her design work has previously been seen in last spring’s production of Memphis, numerous Dance sPace productions, as well as the upcoming short In Case of Communism. PATRICK MORIARTY (Lighting Designer) 

Patrick is a Junior PDSM major with a concentration in Lighting. His recent stage credits include: Guys and Dolls (Assistant Designer) and DanceSPace (Assistant Designer).He has also been involved in several films and his recent credits include: A Day in the Life (Key Grip) Want This (Key Grip) and In Case of Communism (Key Grip) Patrick is thrilled to be designing Head Over Heels this semester and will like to thank his assistant, Margaret, his professors, family and friends for their help along the way. 

 

MIKE EKELBURG (Sound Designer)

Mike Ekelburg is a sound designer and engineer from Burlington, New Jersey. He is currently a junior sound design student at Pace University in NYC.

Previous works include: Off-Broadway: Fiddler on the Roof in Yiddish (Sub A2), Romeo and Bernadette (A1), Regional: Heart of Stone at Proctor’s Theatre, Other: Lakeside Beach Music Festival at Cedar Point (A1) LURED at Theater for the New City (NYIT Outstanding Sound Design nomination), The Producers (assoc. design) at The Argyle Theatre, and Steel Magnolias and As You Like It at Stella Adler Studio of Acting. MAGGIE O’DONNELL (Props Master)

Maggie O’Donnell is a sophomore Production Designer and is so excited to be working on Pace’s production of Head Over Heels as Props Master! Her recent credits include Art Direction of A Simple Vow, Want This, and In Case of Communism produced by Pace University, as well as Props Artisan for North Shore Music Theatre’s Jersey Boys and Freaky Friday. She’d like to thank her friends, and family for all their support as well as Evelyn, Julia, Margaret, and Anna for all their help during this production! Enjoy the beat!

MOLLY GOLDSTEIN (Assistant Costume Designer)

Molly is very excited to be part of her first show at her third college. She’s previously worked on The Sorceress (The National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene), Sweeney Todd (Manhattan School of Music), Secret Life of Bees (Atlantic Theatre Company), This Ain’t No Disco (Atlantic Theatre Company), and others. Thank you to everyone at Pace for being so welcoming, break all the legs!

TORI PIERCE (She/Her/Hers) (Production Stage Manager)

Tori Pierce is a junior Stage Management major, who is thrilled to be leading a team of INCREDIBLE stage managers, and working with a DREAM of a cast and creative team, on her final Pace Performing Arts production. Favorite Pace University Credits: Sunday in the Park with George (ASM), Dance Out Loud 2018 (ASM), City of Angels (PA). When not found in the Stage Management office on the 3rd floor of PPA, Tori can be found working at the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon as a Props & Art Production Assistant. Up Next: 2020 Tokyo Olympics Intern & buying a pet fish (YAY). Tori would like to thank Austin, Ellenore, Alexander, and the cast for all of the unforgettable laughs. She would also like to thank the HOH SM Team <3, and her parents for all their love and support (even when her dreams began to reach crazy heights)!

SHARI FREEDA (Company Manager)

Shari is a junior Stage Management major at Pace University. Off-Broadway credits include: Romeo and Bernadette (ASM) and I Spy A Spy (PA). Past Pace credits include: Dance sPace 2019 (1st ASM), Dark of the Moon (1st ASM), The Drowsy Chaperone (PA), and Snakebit (PA). NOAH SARKOWSKY (He/Him/His) (1st Assistant Stage Manager)

Noah Sarkowsky is thrilled to be working with this amazing team Head Over Heels! Past Pace Credits Include: Dance sPace 2019, Les Misérables, City of Angels, IPE Devised Works, IPE Shows in Rep.  (Pace University). ANNA LIEBERMAN (2nd ASM)

Anna  is a sophomore in the Stage Management major here at Pace University. She is so thrilled to be working on Head Over Heels! She would like to give a quick shout out to her amazing SM team for holding her together through this whole process, she truly is “Mad About Ewe”. Also, to her family, thank you for flying all this way to support me! I love you all endlessly and I am so excited you are here! Enjoy the show!

CALEB POLACEK (2nd ASM)

Caleb Polacek is a Sophomore Stage Management student here at Pace University, who is excited to work on Head Over Heels this year. Other credits are: Lionflame, IPE Devised Work 2018, Memphis, and Want This. Caleb would like to thank his family and friends for their support as well as everyone who he got to work with.

KARA KENNEDY (Production Assistant)

Kara is ecstatic to be the Production Assistant on Head Over Heels! She is a freshman BA Stage Management major. Her previous credits at Pace University include IPE Sophomore’s In Rep (PA) as well as Pace New Musicals (2nd ASM & Asst. Company Manager). Much love to her family, friends, and the stage management team!

MATTHEW GEILER (Assistant Company Manager)

Matthew is a Sophomore Stage Management major.  Off-Broadway credits include: The Sorceress at The National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene (Production Assistant).
